Our clinic offers specialized therapy programs for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) patients. These programs are comprised of Intensive Physiotherapy (including TheraSuit Method), Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Speech Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy.

Autism is thought to be just one extreme in a spectrum of disorders that may be caused by some as yet little understood disruption to the early formative processes of the developing brain.

Autistic children can present with a variety of different symptoms, which may include but are not limited to:

People with autism may also display intellectual disabilities, anxiety, seizures, immune system dysfunctions, sleep disturbances and motor skill abnormalities.

There is no one treatment that has proven to work for all persons living with some degree of autism. Instead, treatment programmes are individually tailored to suit the specific needs of each individual. There is general acceptance that some sort of intervention therapy is better than taking noaction, and that the earlier the intervention, the more likely there is to be some sort of behavioural improvement sooner rather than later. However, the world of autism therapy and treatment protocols remains an open book with many different types and options available.

It is not generally considered that autism is a treatable condition in terms of finding a ‘cure’ although there are documented cases in which the autistic symptoms do seem to recede and even disappear altogether. It may be that the autistic diagnosis was inaccurate in the first place, or that somehow brain changes took place that caused the autistic types of behavior to be replaced with more acceptable comportments.

Many parents and other carers of autistic children would agree that any type of therapy that can calm their child and stimulate any type of meaningful social interaction or reduction in repetitive or restrictive behaviours is to be welcomed.
